Finally got the boat wet!
After a couple of years of dithering, and reading this site (many thanks for all the great advice), I've got my
in the water, on a mooring. The trip from the dingy park to the mooring was interesting: left the boarding ladder down, so could only turn one way. Kids on board asking innocent and pertinent questions, as Dad ran aground, trying not to curse and scream. In-laws waiting patiently on the quay-side, wondering how they let their daughter marry such a putz (is that how you spell it?). Local fishermen being (surprisingly) very kind and forgiving. Also, noticed that the engine was not providing the mind-bending speed I'd been led to expect -worried about this for some time, before remembering (on the way home) that in all the excitement I'd forgotten to undo the little valve on top of the petrol tank. Still, I'll know better next time, and I can't wait to get out there and do it properly!

I'm between Blakeney and Morston. Come out of Morston channel, and head left (towards Blakeney). You'll see a nice clean "Merrimac" with the mast still down, waiting for me to get back and sort her out. Currently having sleepless nights about whether I've got her moored right. What do you do at Wells?
