Any Members going to the Geelong Trailer Sailer Festival

Post by Boblee »

We will be heading down and hopefully the springs will arrive for the trailer so we can take our boat.
Would be great to catch up and meet a few of the Aust members.

Will be trying to get down for at least one of the days. Depending on how many of the 5 kids from our Brady bunch will be around will determine if and when we go and if the Mac comes too. Would love to catch up with some other Mac owners as well as other trailer sailors so I'll be trying hard to get there.

If you are down there Nick make sure you say g'day if the boat makes it it's called "Trust Me" if it's not definitely look out for us.
Should be a great event and should be a few Macs there hopefully.

Run to Paradise was dry docked after 6 mths in the water last Tuesday for it's Winter lay up (Mods and Maint) so we will not be there. This event is marked down for next year though.

You could come around without the boat, would be good to meet up.
Apparently it is a good show and getting better, I really want to hear what the speakers have to say.

Well for those that missed this we had an absolutely wonderful time and as for other sailers knocking Macs there was absolutely no hint of this with many being keen to learn more about them.
We were given a bed for two nights as we couldn't get the boat down and offered to stay for as long as we liked, absolutely wonderful hosts.
Made heaps of new aquantances and contacts and listened to great speakers, the main speakers being very relevant as we will be heading to the same places in the Gulf this winter.
Was great to meet up with Nick and Phil and also the crew from Powersail.
Learnt heaps but still need to find out how the :macm: in the RGYC bent his mast although whatever caused the holes in the bottom of the boat most likely contributed more than the rotating mast which was the explanation offered by other boaters.

Jack :D You don't look like your avatar or I would have recognised you :D :D
Did you hear any of the speakers? who were most entertaining.
Corio bay is a great spot and well sheltered, will certainly be down there given half a chance.
From home we can go direct without any traffic lights and only one turn off the freeway down to the ramp albeit after 300klms.
