Our Pueblo trip is formalized. I've paid for slips for the nights of May 23,24,25,26 at the North Shore Marina. As far as Union not yet, but I'd like to sway the group for moving it to the following (May 9,10,11) weekend. I'd really like to hook up with everyone but I have prior events for May 4th.

So is this Union Res event happening? I know I'm planning on it and so is Don. It sounds like Graham is also up for the May 9-11 weekend. I personally don't care how many nights we're there, but it would be really great to get together and meet some new folks. Let's get a head count to organize food etc.

Hey Harrison
Yes I will be there. I am rigging my boat this weekend. I plan on launching Friday night. Have you stayed on the lake over night before? The last time I checked with the park ranger, he said they really don’t allow you to spend the night on the hook. He then said if you have your fishing line in the water you could fish all night, if you fell asleep, oh well.
Bob
Yes you can use your outboard, but you can only troll. That is one of the reasons Union is a great, no speed boat or jet skis!!! What rigging parts are you waiting on? If they show up Friday, just show up and we can have a rigging party!
Daniel and Walt are you planning on coming?
I’m looking forward to start the season!

What Graham said, outboards ARE allowed. It’s a wake-less lake so 5mph max.
I probably have over a dozen nights on Union Res. The rule book says you can be on the water all night “fishing”, but I have never had a problem. My brother questioned one of the rangers about sleeping on the lake and the ranger said “no”. He said “what about if I’m watching movies all night?” and the response was “That’s okay!” Every year when I renew my pass I always ask “We can still spend the night on the lake right?” and the answer is always “Yes”.
I’ll plan on launching that Friday night (May 9th) as well. (Weather permitting)
Since this is a type of “Meet and Greet” do we want to do a BBQ or something prior to the launch, or prefer to raft up and do it all on the water?
Union has restroom facilities, but no showers. It has drink machines, but no food or ice (until Memorial day during business hours). This past Sunday the water was 48 deg so if you don’t have ice, you may want to just hang your drinks overboard. Bring bug spray just in case.
Just trying to get our duckys in a row.
Bob, I second the offer to help you get rigged. One of the perks of the Mac crowd. . . we’re always there for one another.
Everyone, I’ll monitor VHF until I go to sleep, or. . . .PM me and I’ll give you my cell number.

Thanks for all the HELP offers but I am replacing my running backstays and am still waiting for parts that will require pre-drilling holes in the top of the mast which can only be accessed from the roof of my garage and a very high step ladder.
Upon checking my schedule of more things to do, I also have to repack my wheel bearings----so too much stuff to do, not enough time---but thanks again for the offers.

Guys, looks like I'm going to pass on tonight. They're calling for thunderstorms with lows in the 30's-40's. I know the admeral won't be happy with those temps. . and when she's not happy, I'm not happy
. If anyone IS up for BBQ tonight, or at least getting together for a meet/greet, just let me know.
