This is not a photoshopped photo.

This rare sighting was taken out by Cape Lookout over last weekend.

Wow. You would not need ablative bottom paint with 140 horse. You could open it up and end up with a bottom that was slick as a whistle.

It was either fly a 34' spinnaker off XX and do a whopping 2.5 knots

or chase (circle) down this heavily modified X pirate ship. . . Image

Skipper'd by this character (Erik himself).(Note--Bawgy in the background on the "blue" M behind the "white" X ). . .

and crewed by this "pirate" firing chocolate cake from a cannon. Better than a water gun fight. You could eat the ammo.

And to topped it off, Erik challenged this boat's crew. . .for real. . . .Image

Wow, you take your pirating pretty seriously I see...you should come down to Tampa, we got pirates everywhere. Maybe even bring your boat down for Gasparilla.

Hey, and don't forget to post how you installed those cannons in the mods section

Gasparilla

Post by Andy26M »

Dimitri -

Back in 1994 or 1995 we stopped in Tampa on the then-brand-new USS CHIEF (MCM 14), and we happened to be there for Gasparilla. We were moored virtually to the front door of a swanky hotel right on the water (sorry for the hazy memories). My CO at the time agreed to be part of the festivities ... I think he was taken hostage? ... I can definitely vouch that Tampa takes it's pirating seriously! They also rolled out the red carpet for us Navy guys!

I seem to remember that the primary ammo for the "battle" was loaves of bread; the whole thing was great fun 8)
