Night Sailor
First off why "Night Sailor"? Hopefully it's because you have sailed in the dark . . . which sounds rather exciting. ANYWAY . . . upon drilling the cabin roof for hardware, I became aware that the entire thickness is only about 1/8" or so, which is rather shocking to me. Originally, t...

I hear what you're saying. If I ever did reduce my keel, it would be for the purpose of changing the boat to a more mundane use, as far as sailing's concerned . . . no more trying to beat. BUT . . . being what human nature is, I would probably end up doing something stupid and regret the reduction i...

MY foreign ports of call will probably be in Canada. There's too much of America to sail in . . . enough such that I don't feel the need to visit foreign ports, simply for the sake of saying I did so, or to enjoy bad laws, poor water or non-english speaking bartenders. I look at the Great Lakes and ...

POINTING a Venture 24-4
I can't seem to point my 24-4 within 45-50 degrees with a speed of above 3 or so mph.

EVIDENTLY
at some time back in antiquity, I must've either changed my password or was assigned a new password way back when I originally had the neo.rr.com address. In any case, I can't get my password to my new adress and even though I can automatically log in, I can't change my email address cause I have no...

I'M IN A QUANDARY . . . what to do
I like my Venture 24-4, but I don't like the swing keel swinging side to side. I also don't like the Venture's tendancy to ride waves(tendancy to "kinda" pitchpole ), while also yawing(?)/rolling, on waves that attack at about 45 degrees from shore). I think a lot of the problem is the Ven...

I need to change my email address
but my username seems attached to my old email address(SURV69/SURV69@neo.rr.com). I need SURV69 to be attached to SURV69 (at) gmail (dot) com. any help would be appreciated. As it is I can use my laptop to log in, but I can't use my desktop to log in, and although I now have RoadRunner, I don't use ...

WHOA
I always thought a jack-line was supposed to keep one "on", the boat . . . not just "attached", to a boat. I'd rather like the idea of not being able to fall over the lifelines. Acually, wasn't dragging a seaman a form of punishment for breaking rules? IN any case, there's no way...

BUT the use of a BIG CAT and foreign shore sailing is not in my interests. When I look at the allotted costs, I see so much, so, so much waste, in comparison to my way of living. ALSO, by staying stateside, a lot of costs and other headaches become less. I'm willing to bet, that aside from the winte...

to be certain, the Great Lakes are most definately Great. My hope is to put in the Great Lakes(Erie to start), live in a marina and continue my business for 2 years or so(having an efficiency apartment too), then within a year of retirement begin my sojourn of the Great Lakes. Hopefully, after I bre...
