personally, w/ a Mac i'm only focused on weight. that is, i want a very light weight motor & dinghy.
2 - 3hp is sufficient for boat to shore transportation w/ your typical small Mac dinghy.

i have a permanent halyard from top of mast to bow rail and a quick release pin where furler connects to bow.
