Full Enclosure recommendations
James, I installed a full enclosure I produced for my 2002X with sunbrella top and screens surrounding. Ventilation and bug-proofing are key, so I use 360 degree screens. I can replace the side screens with water repellant panels for marginal wx. You can produce this, using stainless versus aluminum...

Verizon BB cell service for internet
Catigale,
What is your take on cell 'BB' from Verizon. I have been content with very slow usb cell, no additional cost except airtime. I wonder if it is worth a surcharge. In reality, is it close to broadband? Thx and Happy New Year!

Boom Tents, suggestion
Louis,
I make boom rooms/enclosures. If you opt for a tent, I would avoid any compromise on the Sunbrella. I will use no other material for my units. Just ask for the alternative material and you'll be a happier camper. There are other options too.

Highlander's M19 cutter rig
Highlander,
A good post on your Mac 19. Have you posted pictures, especially showing the cutter rig features? I wonder how this has been attempted on the X.

Sail options
Curious if anyone has rigged an IMF on their Mac. I plan to next Spring and check stability with and without wind. I suspect a nice option for minimizing use of the foredeck.

2002 26X, What to check out - Steering Cable
I'd suggest turning the wheel in both directions a number of times. The steering cable can be binding after exposure to salt water, something you would want to know.

Heave To
I brought this question up under another thread. Heaving to, which does not refer to seasickness
, is an effective way to 'stall' or calm down the boat in heavy wind or water. Does anyone have experience with this in a MacGregor?

Rough Weather Conditions
I wonder if the Mac will 'heave to' under some of the conditions described. I was once caught in heavy waters in Tampa Bay, with the Genny out, of course difficult to pull in with the furler, and it was unpleasant at very least. Simply motoring upwind or heaving to would have been good headwork.
