Re: broken leaf spring hanger

for future reference, any preventive maintenance I can do after putting the trailer in saltwater (besides rinsing with water.) I've heard of fluidfilm but that's on the expensive side.

Re: broken leaf spring hanger

thanks for all the info. I'll probably get another trailer. welding is something I've been wanting to add to my hobby skillset, so I'll probably get a starter kit and practice on something else first.

broken leaf spring hanger

got a new to me 84' macgregor 22, put it in slip last month. Looked at the trailer more closely yesterday and found that the rear leaf spring hanger on both sides are broken due to rust. Is it a pretty easy job, to weld on new hangers ? I have never welded before but I am fairly handy. Will an entry...

crimping shroud cables

want to replace the shrouds on my 84 mac 22. I know they're 1/8" 1x19 strand t316 stainless steel cables, I can get them on Amazon pretty cheap. For crimping, will either one of these work? from what i read, I should use copper sleeves and not aluminum.

Re: keel cable replace

Hi JimmyT, yes, thanks for noticing. I realized my mistake last night (saddling the dead horse) and fixed it.

Hi Over Easy, the clamps are type 316 stainless steel

Re: 26 M/X overall length

18 in. is for long shaft?

They measure from tip to tip, from bow stanchions to outboard skeg

26 M/X overall length

Interested in getting 26 power sailor, either m or x. I checked with my local marina, the overall length limit is 28ft, otherwise I'd have to go to a 30ft slip.

Question, with an outboard, say a short shaft 60 hp four stroker, what can I expect the total length to be?

Freedom77 wrote: Looks kike there is no carpet on trailer bunks. Need to do this to prevent scratches on hull, also easier to launch and retrieve when carpet is wet.
when installing carpet on bunks, how do I fix the carpet on to it? just drive some screws in to it?

thx

not sure if this is the right forum for this so here we go. My new V-222 came with a 4 stroke, 6 hp tohatsu outboard. according to the seller, they haven't used the boat in 4 yrs. so what are the items I should do before go out with it. I'm thinking spark plugs, oil change, impeller? anything else ?...

trailer jack handle free spin

the trailer jack that came with my boat trailer is free spinning (when i crank the handle, the gear doesn't turn at all so the handle is just free spinning by itself.) is this an easy fix or time to get a new one ? and is it worth it to get the 2-wheel version ? my boat is a mac 22 thanks

looking at a venture 22

I'm going to look at a venture 22 this weekend and have some questions 1. what're some common problem areas I should look for ? I know the general issues to look for are like: bottom blisters, hull/deck sealing, cracked fiberglass, fitting coming loose etc. 2. what are some signs that the sails need...
