Thanx for the pics. Owned a '71 V-222 for 5 years. Loved it. Observations. Keel looks okay. However swelling can occur due to corrosion of iron core. If keel doesn't go up and down easy you may have to remove, repair and reglass. Check windows for leaks. INterior just need some cleanup. You can repaint with Rustoleum Mariine Paint availble at Home Dumpo or Lowe's. Woodwork looks okay, just need a little TLC. Sand down and refinish with Watco Danish oil. Keel winch looks okay. Missing bulkhead behind winch. This bulkhead is not only cosmetic but adds supports at hatchway. Should think about putting plastic tubing around winch hole to prevent water slopping into cabin. Keel well on 22 acts as suction and will pull water up through hole. Or just stuff a piece of sponge in the hole while sailing. Missing rubber rub rails can be replaced. Mast looks okay, no apparent damage. Inspect mast and boom for dents, bends or other damage. Lifeline stanchions look good. I installed backing plates and ALL through deck hardware. I've seen stanchions/pulpits ripped out from sheets catchingon a hard tack. Also check halyards, sheets, blocks etc. for wear. Sliding trailer tongue is a plus. Need to heavlily grease. Looks kike there is no carpet on trailer bunks. Need to do this to prevent scratches on hull, also easier to launch and retrieve when carpet is wet. YES you can walk on poptop, but with foot rail on your it will give you some support. So. Cal has lots of Venture owners who can give you advise/assistance. What part of So Cal are you located. Lots of trailer clubs there. Resource for Venture stuff, Bluewater Marine, Seattle, 1-800 688-8626 Fair winds and Full Sails....

Yeah, stainless staples work fine. IT'S NOT THE SIZE OF THE TRAILER BUT WHAT YOU DO WITH IT!

Sailor1, do you still have her? How has she come along? I bought a '74 v25 saturday, looks to be close to the same condition.

This is my boat! So funny in my research I've seen my very boat pop up twice online. Both here and on a different site when it was for sail at a different time.
