Genoa - repair/replace
Looking at fixing/replacing our uv damaged genoa on 26M. It's had a quick repair done, however we are thinking of selling & want it looking good. Wondering what is best option & where to go. Would having a uv strip sewn on remedy this. We are SE Qld.

Re: Leaking front windows on the 26M
We have taken out top and side windows and re sealed with sikaflex. (Added extra ss screws) Only lasted a few years as top windows are leaking again. As all windows are now crazed, I plan to remake new windows with 5mm acrylic. Top windows may need to be thicker. Would be good to be able to replace ...

Re: Yamaha 60 High Thrust
We are thinking to replace outboard also.
Currently have 2007 Yamaha F60 near 300hrs. WOT 5200 with 12.1x9 prop.
Thinking the Yamaha F70 as it is the same size motor. Fitting under the captains seat is the concern.

Re: moreton island trip wrap
Cestlavie, enjoyed your story as we could relate to this area. Inside crab island near kooringal has been our choice of anchorage if the westerlies are too much for the wrecks. Enter on high tide from the south. Channel hard to find. Have crossed the bar south of there to get to peel. Was a bit dead...

Re: 2 weeks September school hols in Wide Bay
We did GSS a couple of years ago. Went from TCB to Moon Point. About 10 days on the water. Plenty to explore. Caught some nice whiting at Sheridan flats. Walked a while to find yabbies though. Heading over to Tangalooma soon for 2 weeks - whr permitting. Now have solar panels and backup petrol batte...

Re: LED cabin lights
Paul, We bought 2 of these in the cool white. They are the best we found for low current draw & brightness. 6 amps for 5mtrs. Can cut them up into 1m lengths and solder wires then switch - fuse & anderson plug. We velcro'd them onto cabin ceiling. Very f-ing bright  compared to the dio...

leak stern
We beached the 26M & experienced a leak in the bilge. Because of the incline, water was up over the water line. Salt water came in at the rudder drain hole at the stern - starboard side.

Re: How about aluminum car wheels for trailer??
Can buy al trailer rims over here. Had em on our last trailer. They are painted white. Seen em on caravans also. My concern with std car rims would be the Load Index rating. Our Mac tyres are rated 2640lbs/1200kgs (8 Ply) which equates to a Load Index of 114. The best I was able to purchase here was...

Re: Rust - Mac Trailer 2008
Mine's unpainted gal axel casing. I'd like to take off the wheels to get in & remove the hubs at the suspension adjustment bolts. The axel casing has a cap on either end. Taking this cap off to see inside then spraying Lanox in there may be an idea for peace of mind. May be best to do this after...

Re: New Aluminium Trailer ?
Versatile,
Interesting thread you've started. Good to hear that you are now satisfied with the dual axel.
Torsion bar suspension... I wonder how it seals off the salt water.
What maintenance can I do now to prevent any
later.
