Re: move to Hawaii

Man I am so jealous of you. I spent 4 years with 3/3 out there and spent almost every other weekend renting sailboats from that marina. You will have a blast. Load up the boat with food and drinks and head out to the sand bar for a cookout. Also, on a calm day, you can find great fishing not too far...

Re: Oil disturbance in Gulf

The boats that are running through the oil have significantly bigger water intakes that your outboard. Plus they are mainly targeting slicks. It's probably not the greatest thing to have running through the cooling system but can't be much worse that a constant flow of salt water on metal parts.

1 or 2 year old new boats still at dealers?

I was just wondering if anyone has come across dealers with boats from 1 or 2 years ago still on the showroom floor? If so, what kind of discount were they offering on them?

Re: The best way to wash dishes onboard?

Double check the warnings on the Clorex wipes before you use them again. A coworker gave me a good talking to because I used them to wipe my hands once (they were the Lysol ones though I think). The warning on the back said that using them on anything that touches food is a big no no. Plain diluted ...

Re: Motor well drain 26M

bad design in my opinion. i reduced the depth of my motor well to 5inches or enough for the engine to move freely at full up tilt.drilled a oneinch hole thru transom next to outboard tilt motor then just glassed in the motor well up to the level of the drain hole i drilled.this also let me double t...

Reality Check

I was in Charleston this last week and was eyeing a pretty nice 34ft Irwin for sale for $19,000. After playing the number game I researched the cost per month to slip it at a "cheap" marina. Holy crap I was not expecting that. It was on the lower end for that area and was still over $300 a...

Re: Anybody know of any unhappy Mac owners?

Careful now, My "Yacht " is a 22 foot Catalina! No disrespect towards the Catalina. It's one of the boats I learned to sail on. Just thought it was hillarious that he was making such a spat over that. Would be like if someone that drove a Mini Cooper was knocking on someone driving a stat...

Re: Anybody know of any unhappy Mac owners?

I actually almost got into a fist fight with this Douche that my wife works with last Halloween. Now mind you I have not bought a Mac nor have I sailed a Mac yet. I was DDing for some friends and my wife while they were at a bar. Being sober and bored I was making conversation with whoever was aroun...

Re: $14400 for a 26X no motor?

I had a guy up here in AK that I was going to buy a 2002 X with a 30hp from for $8000 a few months ago. Needed some really small touch ups but a great deal over all. I have been looking for about a year now and I have already seen a handful of great deals go by. The only hold up for me being availab...
