move to Hawaii
I have just moved to Hawaii my boat is not here yet thanks to the worst boat moving company you could hire which i did fire, thats another story anyway i found dry storage at Kaneohe Marine Corps Base on Ohau. Heres my question while in the lot picking out my space low and behold another Mac sitting there mast up blue dodger white with the speed enhancing black stripes. i was wondering who owns it thought we could get together and discuss ins an outs of island sailing. If your out there let me know or if you guys know who it might be could you let me know i was very excited to see it thanks, Tom 2010 M26 70hp Suzuki.

Tom, don't know the boat but must be nice were you don't have screens on your windows and no AC with wind cools all.
I am sure there is a price to be paid living there, even on a Military Base.I bet it's well worth it!
Fair Winds,
Dave

Re: move to Hawaii
Tom,
My suggestion would be to pin a note on the Mac stating your intentions and the URL to this site and your email and other contact info if you are adventurous. Over the years I have encountered many Macs here and there and surprisingly few of them are active on this site. I think in six years of mmacing only two have been members. How do they cope?
Good Luck,
Theo

Man I am so jealous of you. I spent 4 years with 3/3 out there and spent almost every other weekend renting sailboats from that marina. You will have a blast. Load up the boat with food and drinks and head out to the sand bar for a cookout. Also, on a calm day, you can find great fishing not too far out of the bay. You do know Kaneohe Bay is a hammerhead breeding ground right? Is this your first time in HI?

Kaneohe Yacht club is an excellent place if you like to party! Just dont fall in during shark spawning season. Lots of sandbars at the mouth of Kaneohe bay too. Do a flyover in Google earth.

Re: move to Hawaii
didnt know about the hammer heads pretty cool, if i can get sombody to pick up the boat in colorado to get it to the ship thats waiting for it i would be a hull of a lot closer to enjoying it. this is my first time in HI living in a hotel right at the moment. have rented a house 2 blocks from the beach and 5 min to where my boat is going to be stored has a ramp in the storage area get to leave the mast up quick and easy but without any of the worries about growth on the hull.

Whats with all this shark fear? According to most experts, sharks have no intention of eating us and are just curious about us in their environment. Since they have no hands to reach and shake ours with they use their mouths. Geez, they're just trying to be friendly.
Hawaii is paradise, I did many visits there when in the Military. I would move there in a heart beat.
