Re: Conversion from wheel to tiller steering
Dale, My first thought is look at emergency tiller setups. Here is a great one! not too traditional but still a starting point for thinking about hardware and simple connections. http://www.macgregorsailors.com/modt/index.php?view=618 If you try an emergency/temporary tiller setup first then you wil...

Re: Weird
Hello,
Just wanted to add, as a nurse I look at that open cockpit and wonder if some member of the crew may have been disabled in some way, lots of room to move around, yet no way to get up front on the bow, kind of safe.

Re: Tattoo Yachts
Hello All, As for the Tattoo I am anxiously awaiting the 22, not longer but shorter. As they say, everyone has different needs. I did sell my Macgregor 26X recently and am enjoying a West Wight Potter now, waiting for the dream of a Tattoo 22. However, I thought this may have been posted here years ...

Just posted my 1998 Macgregor 26X boat for sale here
Hello All, What can I say, I love my boat but it is time to try to find her a new home. I have listed her here as well as on craigslist Tampa. If anyone knows anyone looking please send them my way, happy to sea trial, let them camp at my house in the boat if from out of town or whatever. I cannot b...

Re: Honda BF50 Low idle and carburation problem
Igooba, looking at a parts schematic online the carb setup looks the same, should be no problem. ah, yes, almost running into things, whether solo or with someone aboard I always keep my boat hook handy to fend off those annoying expensive boats drawing mine towards them, ha, ha!! good luck adjustin...

Re: Honda BF50 Low idle and carburation problem
I have a 2005 with the same experience, the motor cuts out at idle. It was only recently serviced and new fuel with stabil added that was 98 non ethanol. The Mechanic who serviced the motor through it might just need the idle screw adjustment due to the difference in setting the screw with ears rat...

Re: Ignorant Rub rail question
Island808, I hope I am not offending anybody but just to let you know the reason for the stretch as I understand it is that the aftermarket dealer of all things Macgregor only sells it in 50 foot lengths and 54 feet is the actual length needed. Therefore, you are lucky enough to find all kinds of gr...

Re: recent Marqueses keys visitors
Ixneigh, thanks for posting. I have been following your journey. I live outside of Tampa and have always dreamed of going to the marquesas/dry tortugas but it may end up being on a tour by big boat or seaplane. Glad to see someone out enjoying the weather, it has been a very nice spring up here arou...

Re: Sailing songs tribute
Russ, I am so very sorry for your loss. You have my deepest sympathy. My Dad died in 1989, I can't believe how long it has been and how recent it feels like, as for the song as common as it may be I still like Christopher Cross "Sailing", makes me smile and cry when I hear it, Sincerely, f...
