Can anyone give me a reason why I cannot or should not replace my spreaders with something a liitle more substantial than the standard feather weight spreaders? I though a couple of 60" downriggers mounted as far forward in the cockpit would also provide some stability while at anchor using rocker stoppers. Any thoughts out there?

I have one and it works great. We sail the Pacific Northwest with a four & two year old and having that anchor switch below my wheel is a real comfort. Never had a problem with it and could only imagine bad scenarios without it.
