Hi Again all

As stated earlier, I am new to the Macgregor world and am really enjoying our new world of such great boating. I was wondering if anyone knew who you could buy a boat cover (mooring type) for when I leave the boat tied to a jetty with the mast up? I am in Australia however, I am shore most places in the US and Canada would ship it at my cost.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers
Peter.

I think most folks here probably leave their boats uncovered at the mooring, or use a combo of the bimini plus a simple boom tent (tarp draped over the boom using the boom as a ridge pole and then tied down to the lifeline stanchions or whatever is handy).

I think buying a custom-fit mooring cover would probably be best done through a local canvas shop.

My thought was that it would be difficult to attach a full cover while in the water. And what for? The boat is designed to stay out in the rain. Unless you moor it in a place with a lot of nasty stuff falling from the sky. This is true for us actually, last summer we had wildfires and the ash fell on our boat. Fortunately it hosed right off.

There is always an ad in the back of Sail magazine for boat covers designed to go on with the mast and all rigging up. They are called The Canvas Store and their web site can be accessed here. The one I am thinking of is the winter cover, which covers the entire top of the boat. It does not look like they have pre-made for certain models so they would probably have to be custom made, i.e., $$$$$$. 8)
