Im going to the boat today (force myself). Its going to be a really hard thing to do as Bridgett always went with me in the past. Im afraid I wont want to be there and I love my boat it was a place to let all my cares wash away.

Bridgett is gone and Im feeling hurt and selfish and disoriented all the time now. I want to get away from that for awhile and hope the boat does that for me. But I am afraid it wont. I have many projects to do around the house but I dont feel like doing anything. But the boat Was always magic to me. maybe Ill sail today.

I would like to post a tribute to Bridgett somewhere on the mac board. If you all dont mind. I would like it to be somewhere other than the pub so it will stay for some time. It would have some sailing but to be honest it will be about her. Please let me know if it would be alright with you guys.

Mike, my sincerest sympathies concerning the loss of Bridgett. She was a beautiful pet.

As I see it, we're given awesome pets as companions & buddies, but simply said, their life spans are just too short. Its so easy to bond with these loving creatures, only to discover it ends so soon.

Many of us know how you feel, because we've sadly experienced the same.

My sympathy for your loss of Bridget . It seems while she was here she added lots of joy to your life .

im real sorry to hear about your loss,to some of us our pets are more than just "pets"

i have four dogs but i only take one of them with me when i go fishing and she will be the one to come with me sailing
if it was me id put a picture of my dog on the boat,that way she would always be there

Really sorry to hear your news Mike.
This family have been thru the same x3 so can understand your feelings. Wife found it paticularly hard after the death of the Airdale so we were dog-less for 4 years, then 3 months back she got me a Scotty and the house "is back to normal" so to speak.
Don't know what it is about a dog, but they are very special friends, and their passing leaves a big gap in a home.

Has anyone noticed Bridgett's "over the shoulder" look toward Mike. Its that captured moment that we recognize our pal is ready to go for a run, walk, sail, romp, or whatever command. An awesome picture.
Mike, Im glad you shared this very personal matter with fellow folks that also appreciate our loving pets.

Mike, Marlo and I know how much she meant to you and we both feel your sorrow and pain. We lost our Ellie last October after 14 years and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of her and the wonderful times we had together. Bridgett will remain in your heart and memories forever.

We will be down at MDR thursday thru saturday and will look for you. Saturday night there is a concert at Chase park

Mike, I am so sorry for your loss. I Know that Tairy and I will miss Bridgett's watchfull eye at MDR. I had to go through that in November, it's true time heals but you never forget and that's ok because I love the memories.

All of you have warmed my heart, most of you all had contact with her and know her, and the last thing I want is to put any pain with you great folks.
I couldnt do it, it was to soon to go to the boat I turned around and went home.
Thank you my friends I promise soon I will be the happy go lucky guy I was before. and will share that with all again. It feels like shes still here in the house, and if somehow she is I want her to know she can stay.
it feels like she is laying down right behind me as I type this in the computer room just like she always did. but I dont want to look. I hope that feeling will be in the boat too.
Im a rich man I have so much in life, people that have touched my life , as all of you have, bridgett, and so much more. Iam grateful. Why is it Im so lucky? the most decent people in the world I come in contact with, like all you. thank you all again.

I am so sorry for not being able to post this message before in your time of sadness. Being a dog lover and handler/trainer/instructor, I felt that I should send along a few penned lines of words by John Galsworthy from his work titled "MEMORIES" written in 1924, the paragraph is as follows;
For it is by muteness that a dog becomes for one so utterly beyond
value; with him one is at peace where words play no torturing tricks.
When he just sits loving and knows that he is being loved, those are
the moments that I think are precious to the dog; when, with his
adoring soul coming through his eyes, he feels that you are really

aya16, it is so hard to see such a friend and family member go to another place that one day we will all meet at. The pet gave you so much and you gave the pet that back in love and friendship. Nothing has ever been stated better than that of "Man's Best Friend".
I think John Galaworthy wrote it all in one short paragraph.

I understand. Tina and I have gone through many pets over the years, dogs, cats, and latest was letting our horse go; he was like an old friend who been with us for many years. Pets teach us a lot about life.
