Anyone here from the St Louis area?
Anyone here from the St Louis area? I am just curious to find some good sailing lakes or good spots on the Mississippi.

Well...I'm about 100 miles NNE of you.
You'd be wanting to sail Lake Carlyle (Carlyle, IL)--pretty much directly east of you about forty miles: the winds are usually wonderful blowing across the prairie.
I understand Kentucky Lake (Paducah, KY) is nice, too: a bit further at about 170 miles.
I've spent a weekend at Alton, IL: forget sailing on the river, but motoring was fine. Quite a few locks to play in. Big tows to dodge.
My primary haunt is Lake Springfield (IL); it's OK. Pleasant enough if you're in the neighborhood. I wouldn't make a special trip.
