John,

Nice looking bar around that pedestal. Welded or not? How'd you bend 'em?

FWIW, I have and use the Spinlock PX cleats for numerous deck lines, including main halyard, vang, centerboard, etc. However, be aware that they become weathered & sticky after several years.

I noticed that you're using one of them for a jib sheet. I submit that is an unsafe application. If they stick when you're trying to blow the headsail, it could get you wet . . . in either of two ways!

Hi Frank

No the swivel power cleats mounted on the cabin top rails are for my furling lines "cutter rigged" will be used for sailing only their is back up cleats mounted on the stern rails for powering & prevent the furlers becoming undone during inclement weather

Image

Image

I'll take pic's of all the running rigging this wk-end & post she looks like a busy deck but every thing is well planned for singlehandling

the pedestal guard is 4 pieces of 1"ss tube one "U" shaped top, two legs , one handle , 2 "T" fitting, 2 elbows , 2 ss 7/8" x 3" tube inserts & 2 bases all put together with ss hardwhare & ss rivets

The handle will also double as a support for a snap on cockpit table to be made yet

John........

Like it!! except for the hose clamps........

and I have the scars to prove it..............

Reminds me of my mistake of putting a different ring clip on my shrouds.....

damn those are sharp.

btw....

on those extra head sails.......have you chosen what kind of support you will use to keep the roller furlers out straight when you are trailering?

I would imagine your mast raising pole could be used for the longest one strapped to the mast..... are the others strapped to the same?

Thats all I ever hear from you "reef that main" did you not watch that video I posted with Terry out on the west coast we had that 26M of his just scooting along in long 5ft swells at 30-45deg. check out the wake coming off the rudders I must ask him how much mast rake he has as she did not seam to have much weather helm if any .
where's your b@//s ask the miss'is if you can take then off the Mantlepiece long enough for "a good Sail" :D :D :D :D , I'm sorry that must hurt :o :) :P  well bring one anyway :!: I wont tell

Darren

Yeh I know what you mean about the hose clamps but I want to try these power cleats in that position first before I drill any more holes in the boat I also thought of mounting them on the cockpit genny track when I find the best location then I'll make something more pernament

As for my two #2 cdi furlers I just bungy cord my bigger boat hook & whiskey pole as they seem to be called on this "site" on each side of the mast then bungy cord the furlers to them

Now as for my new cdi spinn furler & 350ft spinn no problem I just "bag it" is'nt this amazing :)
