Here is a link for the Harborfest at Norfolk. Lots of tall ships will parade into Norfolk for that weekend.
I plan to sail out and watch the tall ships sail by from my boat.

I may try to get out and see the parade also. It starts Saturday at 9:00AM at Oceanview. I can zip up there in about 45 minutes, then sail along with the fleet.
Gotta love a Mac

Pete,
I've been launching from Public boat launches. I have been to the one at Glouchester on the York River mostly. I may try the public boat launch at Norfolk. Problem is I can't get there till Saturday....

Pete,
Can you better describe where the parade starts and ends. I don't know where Oceanview is.
Thanks,
Jim

Ocean View is the northmost portion of Norfolk. Willoughby Spit is where Interstate-64 makes landfall after you cross the Hampton Roads bridge tunnel. Ocean View is the area once you get off the spit.
According to Chart 12222 there is a large "Commercial Explosive Anchorage" and a "Naval Anchorage" area about 3 miles offshore, north of Ocean View. It is just off the main shipping channel. I assume they will anchor there.
These anchorage areas start about 3 miles from the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel.

On the East side of the HRBT on the Norfolk side.
Got it. Now I just hope I can get out of class early that day so I can get out there and watch.
Thanks,
Jim

I can feel a bad cold coming on that day. I may have to call in sick.
