Thanks to Highlander

I wanted to give a big thanks to John (Highlander) for his help. He put me on to some sternrails(my starboard one is gone) and the top of my mast was naked. No masthead, blocks, etc.
Yesterday UPS brought me new sternrails and a new mastcap for my soon to be renovated M19. I tried to raise the mast and believe that the shrouds are to short. I have the 3/4 rig. The triangle is 19'4" high, base is 44"(to shroud connection on gunnel) so the hypotenuse is 19'9". When I deduct the fittings and adjuster that comes to a minimum wire lenght of 18' 7 or 8 inches. The one that came with the boat was 18'.
The motor turns over(starter works) but I have not yet connected fuel or a battery to the battery connection. I just put a starter battery direct to the starter. The motor is a 1992 40hp Johnson.
The sails are being washed. I'd like to take the boat to a detail shop-very dirty. Thats what you get at a salvage auction.
Oh, BTW, the PO's name was Shore Thing out of Hilton Head.
Back to work. Hope to see some of you all on the water. I live in Greenville, SC and sail the lakes of this area.
Dan
My other inventory is a Nitro bassboat, a ComPac 16, and a now renovated Dyer Dhow. Yes I do need to find a local chapter of Boaters Anonomous.
