Self tailing genoa winches

I am thinking about adding a couple of self tailing winches aft of the genoa sheet blocks to make it easier for me to singlehand from behind the wheel. Has anyone else done this? I am just looking for input before I do it.
Thanks
Tim

This one has been on my list for several years, and is now very close to the top. Can't decide whether the ST winches or the spinnaker deserve to be next.

Lewmar ST14 aluminum are on sale at Defender for $312/ea right now. I've been watching the prices for all the STs for quite some time and this appears to be by far the best bang for the buck you'll find. I've seen them sell on eBay for more than that.

There is a guy in the UK on Ebay that sells Lewmar 16st by the pair for $540 plus around $100 to ship to the US. I know they are a little overkill for the Mac but they would easy even for my kids to use. Plus the price is right.

I put two 13 dollar cam cleats just inboard of the rear docking cleats on each side of the boat. I can tack easily by popping the genoa sheets in and out of those cleats. It works great for the last five years. jim nolan.

I've installed a pair of Harkens on the rails abeam of the wheel along with clam cleats.

Makes a tremendous difference.

Had to - my wheel is too big!
