I have a 96 MacGregor 26X. About five years ago I replaced the original steering helm (almost completely stuck) with a Morse Command 290. Some months ago I also installed a Raymarine Sportpilot. It works fine but I am concerned that it may be working too hard as the replacement helm has lost some of its ease of steering with age.
I saw on the another section of Mods that the UFlex is recommended as a replacement helm. My question is, will the Sportpilot fit easily over the UFlex? Will I need to drill new holes and move the SportPilot mounting?
Perhaps the easier route is just adding some lubricant in the old Morse Command?
