Mac 26X vs 26m

Hi all I recently lost out on a great 26X and have been considering a 26M. I have looked over all the articles I could find and some comparisons but would like to get some opinions from some of you that have owned a 26X and have gone to a 26M. I would like your opinion on sailing, powering, and the liveabliity for a long weekend etc.

Don't know a lot of people that have moved up to an M. We got an M because we liked the layout better. Others prefer the X layout. The M fits out lifestyle better.
If you do go with an M, make sure you include wording in your contract to have the dealer put a channel in the foam filled mast to run wires in the future. Contrary to what is being promoted on Macgregors site, a channel is not cast in at the factory.
