Poll: What you tow your Mac with

With all of our ongoing towing discussion, I don't think I've ever seen a poll of what we use. IF we have, then just ignore this.

You forgot about the vans, especially minivans. I suggest voters put them in with SUVs and pickups according to the number of cylinders.
Where do owners of 4 cylinder pickups, SUVs and minivans vote? With passenger cars? Or the probably useless Peterbilt category?

I'd stay away from recitation of cylinders, unless that's the only measure you use, because of the variance. For example, I have 10...
So, you could have a 4/6/8/10 poll. Or you could have compact car, fullsize car, small truck/suv/minivan, and large truck/suv/van...
Or, you could say 4c car, 6c car, 4c truck/suc/van, 6ctruck/suv/van, and 8+c truck/suv/van...

The minivan category is probably a fairly big one here based on responses I've seen over the years, but I wouldn't put them in the same category as an SUV. Afterall, aren't they built on a regular automobile frame? Full size vans are probably built on a light truck frame I would guess. Best way to categorize may be based on the class, for example, my Honda Odyssey is a class2 tow vehicle.

My old beater F-150 1983 vintage, got a 4.9 straight six(big diff from V-6, should be it's own category), 4 speed manual, and 4x4 with the manual hubs. Won't go real fast up steep hills, but put it in 3rd gear(4 total) and it'll go 45 at 3000 RPM's and keep going like that til I run out of gas.
And at the ramp, 4low and 1st gear; just release the clutch and it will idle its way out of the steepest ramp.
And plus you don't have to pull your hair over every single little ding it aquires.
Only regret is that I didn't search for an extended cab
At least I got my $100.00 Wallmart box

On edit, I just noticed the Peterbilt option in the poll. We do have a flat top freightliner with a 72" bunk I was getting ready to trade. Thought I would convert it to a boat hauler with a set of rails to put my dinghy where the 5th wheel is.
It would be very cool to be able to safely haul the boat at 80-85mph and get to the coast on 1 or 1 1/2 tanks of fuel. Plus have a place for the wife or kiddos to sleep without having to be in the boat.
Put the whole Mac26 where the 5th wheel is

Put the whole Mac26 where the 5th wheel is using long arms that pivot, make it so you can just pull up to any seawall and lever the Mac26 into the water, no more ramp lines.

8 cyl 5 liter 2WD E-150 conversion van with about a zillion miles on it. recently installed new engine, transmission, radiator, tranny cooler, etc. Fuel economy is not good. 10-12 mpg. Plus it has some quirks like when you step on the gas, the air conditioner air door closes and you get no air.
Just bought a winch for it that goes in the receiver hitch. Would like to put a reciever hitch on the front for the winch, but not sure if that is a big deal or not to do.

Got our Mazda Tribute in 2000, when they first came out. Nice little SUV, runs more like a car than a truck and pulls the boat OK, but I'm a little nervous about the transmission and/or in heavy winds when the boat outweighs the tow vehicle. Hope to someday upgrade to a 4-Runner or something, then maybe take boat and family over the mountains to Seattle for a vacation.
