Hey all,
I'm wondering if any of you have figured out an easy method to use a solar shower while on your Mac. I have a 1999 X, and I haven't figured out a method that works well. The best would be hoisting it on a jib halyard, but I have a furler, so no jib halyard. So far I've tried hoisting it on the main halyard, leading the halyard forward and adding a loose bungie to suspend the solar shower on the halyard and the furler, trying to suspend it above the foredeck. That hasn't worked well. I've tried resting the solar shower on top of the bimini, hanging the nozzle over the transom, and crouching between the bimini and the motor while soaping up. That kind of works, but not great.
If I could open the helm seat while the bimini was up, I could stand there while the solar shower resting on the bimini, but my bimini isn't tall enough.
I've tried hoisting it with the main halyard and running a loose bungie cord to the backstay to bring the solar shower and the nozzle back to the transom area, and that hasn't worked, either. My halyard isn't long enough for me to control it from the transom while hoisting it.
I've considered switching to a pressurized weed sprayer filled with water, but that wouldn't heat up near as efficiently as the solar shower.
Has anyone come up with a clever system to hoist a solar shower high enough to stand underneath it (preferable while standing above a section of the boat that can get wet and drain itself)?

I used the Solar Pressure shower from NEMO for years until it disappeared into Narragansett Bay a couple weeks ago. Just got the Rhino one, substantially less $$. American made as was the NEMO one. Works great! No need to hoist it. A foot pump is used to build pressure. Well made. Good straps and connection points for lashing it to what ever and can be used by gravity too. Thermometer built in. Less than 50$$. Shower right on the deck. Holds 5 gallons. Amazon.

You don't have a shower problem you have a bimini problem. Lengthen the bows on your bimini so you can get your seat open with it up, it is definitely possible, see photo. Once you can do this then you have many options, I simply use a 12V camp shower in a 20 litre drum of warm water and sit on the lowered motor while I shower, very comfy and works well.
