Moped on a Mac?

I have 2 fold up Dahon bikes for my Mac and put them in the pulpit when cruising but am thinking of getting a Moped for my RV. Has anyone been able to store one of these on the Mac while motoring? It weighs 150lbs. It would be great to tour all the San Juans/Gulf Islands in one of these. Some Islands do not rent cars and this would be a good way to get around. I thought to tie it around the mast might work.

I also have 2 Dahon folding bikes and was going to bag and put them on the rear berth, but give us more detail of where and how you store yours. In the pulpit=on the bow? Seems like not enuf space, so I think I am not picturing it right.
Help!!
Thanks

I wanted to get out and around Dog Island so I stashed a Schwinn in my bunk and my back is killing me; all those dang bolts and the marks left by the spokes are simply not worth it. Go rent one, what ever the cost.

I leave the Dahons folded up and in a large plastic trash bag bunged tied down to the pulpit. They both fit inside the pulpit. I sometimes put them in the towed inflatable.

I am sorry but you cannot convince me that you can tow the Macgregor with the moped.
Maybe Moe can do it with his bike, tho...

Are you familiar with the folding mopeds from
DiBlasi? Looks like they would be easy to store, and won't leak fuel. Costly, though.

That's *very* cool, Jim... and they come in
stainless as well. Weighs only 65 lbs, does 30mph and folds down to only 30"x15"x24". Amazing.

Those are extremely cool! But, those prices will pay for a whole lot of taxi rides...

Thanks Jim, the things you learn on this site. The moped I was looking at is $1800 so this one is about right in price.

I carry a folding 20" three speed bicycle in the "V" berth and it's worked out pretty well. I have been thinking about adding an after market gas bike motor over the back wheel. The addition could cost as much as $500 and add about 10 pounds to the bike. This seems like the best way to go for me.

Rich, where do you get a motor for a bike? Is this legal on highways? I remember seeing a bike with a motor called a "Whezzer" at a restaurant called "Ruby's."

Actually, it's called a 'Whizzer' and they have become highly
collectible (read:
expensive)... they were made back in the 1940's/50's...

As far as motors for bikes, have a look here:
http://www.moped2.org/motorkit.htm
(Note: not all the links work on the page above, but if you cut/paste the names into Google you'll find the current sites... like for the Zipper Bicycle Motor, for example).
