DIY Sail kits....

Post by kenfyoozed »

Are there any places that offer sail kits for the DIYer? I plan on getting a Sailrite for some other projects, so looking to see if I could justify the price of the sailrite by building my own sails. Or at least recutting the ones I have. Sailrite has a kit for a Macgregor 25 and 26X. I have a 26D. Are there others that offer kits?

The only company left making a DIY sail kit is actually Sailrite.

If you are handy and good behind a sewing machine, it is a straightforward process.

With that said, their prices are steep. You should be able to find a new loft-built sail for a comparable price.
