Aussie invasion 😁
G’day everyone.I hope y’all don’t mind my post as its not exactly Mac related. I’ve been on this page for many years , since around the time I got my X in 2002 which I still have . Being a keen traveller and having my X it created an interest in visiting the good old USA . So that said I’m hoping for some help/advice on RVing across the many great states . Hopefully my wife and I will get a chance to catch up with some of our Mac family if we’re in you area ,if you get my drift
. I’m happy to exchange emails on this forum if that’s allowed . Regards Devocean

I'm sure that there are numerous board members who would welcome showing you around their areas of domicile. The U.S. is a big country, with vastly different locations; how long would you consider traveling around
When my wife and I travel, we try to connect in advance with Mac owners in the countries and states we visit. We have met some terrifically nice people; you will also.

That sounds awesome. Would love to hear of your journey. Perhaps in the Trip Logs section.

You will have to get used to driving on the right side of the road. Plot out your trip and check out the Mac Map for members you can meet up with.

Re: Aussie invasion 😁
I’m curious where you plan on beginning your trip. Where you start off in the United States will have a great bearing on the kind of sights you’ll be able to see. Like Australia, the United States is a very, very big place. If you start in the Pacific Northwest, for instance, then going across the top of the country through Montana, and down through Wisconsin across through Chicago, and on to New York would be a very different trip than starting at Los Angeles, and coming up through the southwest, up through Colorado and along the southern route. There are so many great things to see in the United States, but seeing most, or all of them is nearly impossible. Heck, most of us who live here haven’t even seen 1/4 of what the United States has to offer. So, give us an idea of what you’re interested in, and where you believe you’ll be starting your trip, and I’m sure we can all chime in with some interesting ideas.
As for me, if you get near Philadelphia, or even near upstate New York by the Canada border, you’re welcome to drop in to share a meal or even a trip on our Mac. One of your countrymen hosted me, my wife and sons when we visited Brisbane a few years back, and he gave us a wonderful ride on his Mac through the harbor. Great fun!

G'day everyone. Thanks for the replies and invites, much appreciated. Catching up with our Macgregor family
would certainly be a wonderful part of our adventure. Like Aus, we appreciate how big the US is. We plan to RV around so I'm guessing our travels will start where we find our RV.
With the visa interview just completed, we have been offered a 6 month stay with plans to fly in mid-May 24. Of course, we don't expect to see everything in that time. Now it's just deciding exactly what's possible to visit and experience. We will certainly keep you posted as our plans take shape. Any suggestions or ideas, for our wish list, always appreciated.

G’day, Welcome in advance to the USA. Had friends from Germany that did a similar RVHoliday. They did a one way rental counter to the norm and saved money. Big demand by snowbirds for RVs in Florida and Arizona in the winter. Rental companies like CruiseAmerica need to relocate vehicles back North for Summer. https://www.cruiseamerica.com/ Enjoy our Beautiful National Parks and friendly citizens. Closehaul
