Hi StickInTheMud57!

Like your anchor arrangement!
Nice idea!

I especially like your rubber “bumpers” or should I say “anti-bumpers”! ;-)
That is a great idea that I’ll be copying this coming season.
They will make easier gripping/handling and cut down on some of the scratch potentials. Will cover over the sharpish bar ends.

If I might suggest the potential of adding a pair of short sections of garden hose or vinyl tubing over the bars! This would help cut down on marring of the bow railing… at least where the bar contacts it.

The bungee is a nice touch too! Effective & simple!

Best Regards,
Over Easy :-) :-)

Note: For some reason the reply function on the mods section is bolixed and apparently wouldn’t send a contact message so I figured I’d post it here …. Probably better here so others might get to see your idea.

Thanks! Being basically a lazy person, I look for the simplest solutions. I use this with my 8# anchor. Not sure if it works with the 212.???

Good idea to protect the vulnerable parts, thanks!

I find the most challenging thing with this arrangement is getting the anchor line led correctly. If you are not paying attention you can end up with rope and/or chain tangled up with the pulpit.

Happy sailing!

Oh Ive seen that.. very simple yet effective. Do you take the end caps off the anchor when lowering?

Thanks for sharing - definitely looking for anchor storage solutions that keep it accessible on the bow of my 26D and this looks great.

Where do you store your anchor chain and rode? Currently mine is in a bucket -- looking for a better solution for that as well.

I store my 8# in the head. I installed a little hook to that the anchor shackle rests in. (see photos) Gravity keeps everything in place, and I have never had any problems with it falling out of place. The end of the crosspiece doubles as a toilet paper holder. Whether this will work for you may depend on how your head is mounted.

I keep my rope and rode in an Anchor Caddie bag (https://www.anchor-caddie.com/). Nice, breathable, lightweight, and can be hung from the pulpit keeping everything off the foredeck.
