Hi Guys,

Ive never installed a Bimini before so might be asking a stupid question but the BWY office is closed for a bit. So following the directions (I think) on assembly , went to mount it on the gunwale and its a little narrow like the feet barley have enough room to sit on the inner edge.

SO - did i screw something up in the assembly ? Can I bend it out carefully? I don have pics to post but maybe the next day or two.

Oh - 91' 26C

thanks in advance for the input

Post some pics.

I just installed their tall Bimini on my :macm: ; I’ll see if I can help. I’m not familiar with your boat, or if the bimini’s are are different.

How much more width do your arches need to sit properly?
Two”, three”. You can stretch your arches that amount without any damage. Here’s how to spring them outwards
Lay your arches out on the lawn. Measure the foot ends ‘as they are’. You’re going pull them apart as to permanently spring them. Calculate how much wider you need them. (Ie. 2”) Get some helpers to stand on the curvy corners. Get a strong helper on each foot. Plan is to slowly, but forcefully pull them apart as horizontal to the ground as you can. They may need to go 6” apart to get 2” permanently. When it’s stretched the required amount -install. Think it through and it’ll work.
( I’ve done it alone by pounding a series of stakes in the lawn at strategic points to replace helpers!).

thanks for the input. I only have to stretch it out about an inch to inch and half so should not be that hard. I just want to ask before i started stretching anything. I send pics when i get it on. Quality is great. I'm glad i ordered one to fit and didnt have to cut one down.

Fair winds and happy sailing ,

For 1” you can just go head and install it by springing it into the hinges. It’s not as if it’ll be moving around.
