Hi All

Came across an unique and unusual anchor (at least to us) while up here on Lake Champlain VT.
We are wondering if anyone can identify it or what may have driven this interesting design?











It was on an older 40 ft Catamaran.

Add that to the list of anchors I want and don't need.

According to the Bulwagga website, their anchors are all made by high qualified employees. But seriously folks, it's a plow anchor that can't land upside down. Because there isn't any up or down side.

Here's another one. There is a member here who actually has one, and will remain nameless unless he/she outs him/herself, but it's a very unique design. Brings up images of Neptune and his trident.

not correct. I have not one but TWO of the JAMBO anchors.
They are said to go with the best multifunction anchors.
And best for the Mac26m: I can ride it on the bow roller. Or there is enough space INSIDE the anchor locker for both the Jambos: one 8kg, one 11kg, an two anchore rodes.

How sharp are those points and are you allowed to put bait on them?

Actually they are very interesting as they actually BOTH fit IN the the anchor locker!

( We can’t fit our Danforth or any other valid size anchor in our locker! Lucky to fit 150 feet of 3/8 twisted 3-strand nylon and 10 feet of chain! Never mind a pair of functional anchors! )

I think if you run into any enemy ships you just turn the Jambo around and increase to ramming speed.

I'm with Tomfoolery. That's a Bullwagga all right. They don't make them anymore and more's the pity. It has NEVER failed us, regardless of the bottom conditions.
At one point, at the Devil's island, in the Apostles, it got wedged so securely between two boulders that it took us half an hour of jockeying every which way to get it out. I was ready to dive 15 feet to remove it by hand, if need be--though the water was frigid. Worth its weight in... silver?

Soooo….. yer say’n we’d better get some more detaile pictures and dimensions if’un we are want’n one huh?
It is one of the more unusual ones we’ve seen in person.

I’m afraid I don’t know about the 26M locker dimensions, but as a proxy, the Fortress FX-11 fits in there but doesn’t fit the 26X locker. The FX-7 that I have does fit, though.

I,ve had to lock down my S/S anchors on the boat

I’ve use one of those CBA types in the past.
Worked fine except it was a bit rough on the gelcoat and tended to suffer from mass reduction when going through choppy seas.

Graduated to the wire reinforced handle large Clorox bottle filled with fiber concrete. That was a bit easier on the gelcoat and lasted years!

Didn’t ever use it for more than a fishing anchor on a lake with a sand / mud bottom and at that it did ok for the skiff I had way back then. Never got stuck! Never pulled up the sea grass either!

Here an interesting one that was designed for river and current applications with sandy and muddy conditions





They call it a “ "River Mooring" Swift Water Boat Anchor”

The box at the back is accessible to increase/decrease ballast of the anchor depending upon conditions as might be desired.
