Sad Day

I've been boating for many decades, and even retired from the USCG Reserves. Due to health issues, I am putting my 2001 MacX up for sale. I haven't been able to use it for over 3 years. What's especially sad for me is that I finally got it into that "perfect for me" category, as I have a Yamaha 70 on it, and a dual axle aluminum trailer. But it does no good sitting in my driveway other than to look at it. Here's the MacGregor link for info.

Wow, that is sad. Takes a while to get a boat YOUR way.
Nice looking boat. Good price. My brother-in-law lives up your way, I'll show him. But he's kind of scared of sailing.

Sorry you have to take that step. Hopefully, there are many, many memories that will remain forever in your thoughts. Hopefully, the next person who can enjoy your boat will step up and keep it sailing with pride. If we take care of these "puppies" we are just place holders for the next guy for whom they are their "dream boat", too. Fair winds and following seas...

Ever so sorry to read of your decision.
It’s a loss for this site whenever a board member recognizes that it’s best to sell, especially a long time member, as you are.
Wishing you all of the best in your future. Don’t leave us altogether; sage advise is always welcomed.

Indeed, this is a sad day.
We're all one step and day closer to making that hard decision. I hope you won't be a stranger here, and that one of us is close enough in proximity and generosity to invite you out, when possible. I'm sure it won't feel the same but may scratch the itch. I've learned from and have appreciated your contributions here and hope your participation will continue.

Wish u well Skipper , I just had surgey last wk that will keep me from boating this season

, so will work on recovering & getting in shape for next season hopefully ! .
Do u have sailing friends or mac sailors close to u who u could crew for ! , sometimes when I was busy & did not have enough time to get my own boat out I,d crew on Geoff or Rocky,s boat for a half day or so was great cause it got me out on the water
Just something to ponder on !
Old Sailors never die ! They just move onto someone elses Boat !

Hi Mallardjusted
Sorry to read about deciding to let go of your vessel.
While we are but relative newbies we have appreciated your comments on these forums.
We can appreciate that sometimes ones priorities change and sometimes it’s best to lighten the ship…
We all hopefully get to that point where it’s time to pass the torch with some planning.
Please take care and Please continue to contribute your thoughts and perspectives.
Best Regards and Fair Winds,
Over Easy
