I'd like to install a hatch directly in front of the mast on my Mac25. I have a hatch on the bow, but I want to increase air flow and lighting in the cabin. My understanding is that the weight of the mast is directed mostly onto the vertical post directly underneath in the cabin. However, I don't want to weaken the deck. Have you installed a hatch in same location, or can you recommend a resource with guidance on deck tolerances? Thanks

If you do not want to weaken the deck (I wouldn't either) you could make a two-step solution. Rig a wind scoop to the existing hatch and put an LED light bar in the cabin.
