Instrument mount on wheel pedestal

Post by ris »

We never posted this mod that I remember. I needed a little more room on top of the pedestal so a piece of starboard was screwed on top. By letting it over hang to the port side even with the outside edge of throttle control there was a lot more room. This way there was room for the garmin chart plotter and the honda vee three gauge. The honda gauge is mounted in a small box made of starboard.

That came out really nice! Very clean looking.

Nice work with that Starboard. How did you seal it?

What was in that hole with wires coming out?

We sealed the starboard instrument box with 3M 4200. We never use 5200 but 4200 you can get apart. The large hole with the wires was where a very large compass was located. We still have the old compass, the plastic was quite glazed by the sun. Since the PO had the original 12 volt panel directly behind this compass we removed the compass and placed our shore power smart plug in this hole. This way it was a very short 6 inches to our 120 volt panel and the 12 volt panel.
