Help getting a Bimini

Hey everyone,

I am almost finishing my restoration of the my 26s and only now realized that I am still missing a bimini...

Howver just by looking at the boat, I can see already that this is going to be a difficult one due to space restrictions.

So, considering that I have seen some nice photos of 26s with nice bikijis installed I would like to ask you guys for some advice and what were the main difficulties with the installation.

I am currently considering buying the bimini in the link below, but I still have to decide what height and width it should have....

Been happy with that install, but now don't use a bimini since...

How do you have clearance between your boom and your bimini? I realize I've only sailed on my old boat with blown out sails, but on my boat I have to be careful of boom smacking the poptop. I can't imagine adding another structure to worry about.

New sails are in the budget for next season though, that may change the clearance.

We run a topping lift...

.... and keep it just taught enough that the boom stayed off the bimini and now the panels which are the same height. That is if the sail is slack, no wind. With the sails working the boom clears and the topping lift is slightly slack. Our main is fairly new and in good shape and came from Somerset Sails. This also worked with the old main that came with the boat and the bimini,
