Yesterday while fishing off islamorada I realized the need for jacklines .....1 for fighting strong fish ...this fish gave me a run for my money and walking around the deck of a macgregor in rolly seas trying to get the real around the stays and lines was a real chore.......but even after that the seas picked up a bit and we got surrounded by sharks as I used this 5' cuda as bait to draw them in..... well as I pulled the anchor of course the boat immediately turns beam to seas and REALLY starts rolling so here I am stuck between the bow trying to make it to the mast to hold onto in a boat surrounded by sharks......needless to say a spill overboard would have been VERY bad .......if anyone has put on jacklines I'd love to see pics of where you hooked the lines to get some ideas

Jacklines is a good idea, when singlehanding i hook on to the lifelines on the
windward side but that is no good when the boat rolls from side to side.
I have experiented with how to avoid rolling when drifting àround either
fishing or stowing the sails. I pull the centerboard all the way up, and
rudders all the way down, the boat turns with the stern to the wind and waves
It will roll a few seconds maybe a minute before it turns, but once
on course downvind it hardly roll at all.
