Does anyone know the font for the Macgregor 26 name plate. My stickers are getting very tatty and I am looking for options to get some more substantial ones made up. Thoughts of reverse engraving on clear Perspex on a black background or something.

If we're talking about the font shown in the item below from Blue Water Yachts, it looks like some variation on Goudy Old Style Bold, but with an incuse central cut like a stonemason might use for an inscription:

Honestly, unless I were planning to do something really different, like "badge rechristen" the make of the boat to something sexier like the recently-celebrated Spanish Tattoo 22 competitor "NUVAFLING 69," I think I might just get the BWY one for 20 bucks. As for the older 26X decals, even brand new they kinda look "pre-degraded"...kinda like me:

The newer BWY Font looks like good old Times New Roman to me - here it is on MS Word in Bold with raised effect in Word Art.

I have had some replies to my query on a couple of MacGregor facebook pages. At this stage the details are

Font : Angsana New in Bold
If engraving/cutting the method is "Vcarve"

Currently looking around locally (Melbourne, Australia) to see whether anyone can do this sort of engraving. Thanks to all particularly James McGrew in the US who is on the Facebook page (not sure whether he is a member here) for his help.

I believe IXNeigh had a stainless one made. As I recall he wasn't pleased with the turn out.
I'd LOVE to replace the plastic one with a nice engraved stainless that looked good.

I plan to put new name plates to.
But I dont like the way it was done: I realized that the scres were not sealed goot. So I plan to close the wholes from the srews and just put a sticker on. You can get them very cheap. By the way macgregor also uses a sticker on a plate.
It is cheap an you can redue it any 5 years.
