Low Voltage Disconnect?

I have been reading older threads about the electric requirements for adding a fridge besides shore power including solar, generator backup, second house battery, yandina combiner, etc...
However, I have not seen anything about a low voltage disconnect to protect the batteries from getting too low. Is there a reason for that?

As far as a disconnect, not sure I know of one. But, if you have a compressor driven refrigeration unit like the Waeco/Dometic (I have the CF-52), the refrigerator itself will turn off if it senses the battery level getting low (three different settings). Another way to deal with this is to have multiple batteries and keep one isolated for starting.

The portable I have has a low battery shutoff even though it's one of the smallest made.
But I'm told it has the same motor as the larger units. I have two batteries. The voltage shut off cuts in with enough power left to crank the motor. I've verified this myself. In term of shutting off the whole electric system in case of low voltage, I've never heard of that.

The battery monitor I installed has the capability also.

But I do not feel that it is a worth while investment. I would just go with 2 different banks.

My Edgestar fridge shuts off when voltage is too low to start the compressor.
I keep a dedicated starting battery and a house battery for other stuff so I'm never in danger of pulling down my starter battery. The combiner charges both batteries when voltage is high. Simple and works.

OK. I have the batteries on a switch, but since I have no generator and only a small 40 watt solar panel I was wondering about the disconnect. do you know at what voltage the fridges shut off?
