stern outboards brackets with floatation

Post by mike0404 »

Hi
Did any of you guys have such a bracket on your Mac ? I have seen them advertised on www.dadmarine.com, and Armstrongnautical.com. I saw one photo with a bracket and trim tabs. It looks like it is good on fuel too.
I look at this because at the marina, they have a minimum charge for 30 ft vessels. I would make it 29'6" because of the bahamas boat fee under 30 ft half what is above 30 ft. LOL I would put my toilet (air head) & shower on one side and cooking on the other side. I want to avoid cooking (heating) and toilet/shower inside the mac. I will have made a large swim floating platform on hinges aft of the bracket. Thos brackets are good for heavy motors so ...
I can strengthen the transom if needed.
I am hesitating between Yamaha 60, Evinrude 60 and Suzuki 60 . I see few have 90 hp and even saw a 140 hp on a 26X on youtube ... 140 hp gets expensive, but i should be fast 34 knots at full thr. . I have a 20 hp (for the dinghy) i can add for more push or slow cruising when necessary. Most of the time it will be in a marina or anchored in a surfkite shallows paradises. I hear those brackets are also good for shallow cruising.
My bimini will cantelever above the bracket and extend more for shade outside marinas. Hence above the swim platform.
I don't want to buy an Imexus 29 .
