Can you tell that I am so sick of winter?

Hello all,

I am so sick of winter up here in Canada that last weekend I went down to our Yacht club and made a video of the club and some sailboats sitting around waiting for spring. There's at least 8 Mac 26's that I have seen there so far at the club. Last weekend there was still trucks driving on the ice for fishing so its going to be at least a month or two before the water opens up so enjoy the video:) :macx:

I am in northern Ontario and I feel your pain. I have a 4 foot snowbank blocking in my boat. Saturday it was -26 At night but yesterday it was 9 and sunny with no negative daytime highs in the long range forcast. Let the melting begin.

Sorry for you guys. I've been itching to go, it's been in the 60's and 70's and sunny around here. Only problem is it's been blowing hard enough to make an anchor chain stand straight off a fence post!

This is when it is really hard on a northern sailor! When its January and I look out my window and see 3 feet of snow and the temperature is minus 40 then you know "its so not sailing time" but when its plus 5 at day time and the snow is starting to melt, the birds are singing, etc then you get the "itch." Going down to the yacht club and seeing all of the sailboats parked and up close was cool but I think that just made the Itch "itcherer" lol. Seeing the Macgregor 26x's didn't really help the itch either....lol. Oh well its approx 40 days now and counting until I can unwrap the X and start getting her ready to sail :D :macx:

Thanks Ron. That day it was 12 above but there was still 4 feet of ice on the lake. It will take a while for all that ice to melt down. Our season up here for sailing is approx 5 or 6 months long before it gets too cold to sail so we have to enjoy it twice as much as we only have half as long  :macx:

This is the same lake but you'll see some open spots by the dam as the water is flowing and there are people ice fishing like 100 feet away from the edge of the open water???

Yes if you live in Canada you quickly become familiar with cold :?

Very cool video.

It is the winter that keeps the crowds and traffic away.

Thanks Russ and yes boat that is true.....lol. For the next week or so we are going to have "like spring" weather which will get rid of the snow but it will still take a few weeks to dry everything up but at least its the beginning of the end of winter!!! :macx:

Having grown up in coastal Connecticut, March to me always seemed to conform to the 'in like a lion . . . ' paradigm, but up here, March is a snow month. I still get false hope, even after 13 winters here, but it never fails that we get a good bit of snow even into April. It's going up to 70F today, but it can't last.

May here is more like April downstate, and April was never a great month as far a weather goes. :( I can't imagine Saskatchewan is any better as far as the weather calendar goes, and may be worse, being north of us.

Thats very true Tom. In years past I have been out camping in a tent in late May and woke up to find out that "yeah its snowed a foot! " during the night. A couple years back I took the Mac 26X up north to a fresh water lake and after about a week on the lake a snow storm blew in and it got down below freezing during the daytime. Was it ever cold in all that fiberglass. Thank god I brought a minus 20 degrees sleeping bag with me. Does anyone have any great ways to heat a Mac 26? On that trip I tried keeping my one burner stove going but even after an hour or so it did not make that big a difference. :macx:

Nice videos G. The farthest I have flown so far is just over 3700 feet and then my signal started breaking up. I was reading down on the comments under that video and that one gentleman was talking about his standard and trying to get the same distance that you did but I think a standard is blue tooth and not lightbridge so I think he would be lucky to get like 100 to 200 meters. There are a lot cheaper than the P3 and that is the main reason why I was told by my dealer. OMG you got a lot of snow in Ontario this winter haven't you? K I am going to go back and check out your other videos and i will subscribe to your channel but you have to do the same:) :macx: chow for now p.s I can't wait to video the Mac with the P3!!!

Just 180 miles east of Tom we have had no winter in Albany. Total snowfall has been 4 inches. I have done three major car jobs in the driveway this winter, warm and dry. My usual rule is no car stuff in Jan Feb March.

Welcome reprieve after the winters of 2014 and 2015 which were full blown
