Upper keys or Miami Jan 3rd -17th

I'll be going to south dade about January 3rd for a week and a half, part of that time with the admiral. We went a month ago along with our 11 year old to lower keys and had a good time, although got a lot of rain which was not high on the admirals list of enjoyment.
We are considering Miami area or pennecamp park, although if others are in the area and want to meet let us know, and if others have suggestions we are all ears. If anyone has suggestions about Miami area please let us know, considering Miamarina or maybe dinner key, but are unfamiliar with anything in the area. Things may depend upon weather when we get close.
I spoke with a few of you a month ago, but ran into delays getting to Florida and was not able to meet up, hopefully I'll have more time this time around.

It's impossible for us to predict at this point, but we expect to be in the Keys during your general time frame, working our way east toward Pennecamp and Angelfish Cut, in preparation for a crossing to Bimini. The admiral and I are presently on our way to the Keys. We will base ourselves in Pennecamp for 4 weeks. The only plan we have up to date is to get drunk at Sloppy Joe's in Key West Dec 31 and eat Grouper at the Fish House in Key Largo. We should arrive in Key Largo on December 21. I'm bringing my sailing dingy to kick around with. Woohou

If any of you want any crew help January 4th to the 7th let me know, I'd love to get some experience with other Mac sailors. Or vice versa, my m is at south dade and I'm looking for options between the 3rd and 7th as I'll be solo, and then the admiral arrives on the 7th for about 9 days and tentatively planning upper keys Pennekamp but still flexible if anyone wants to socialize.

I plan to be out on the water New Year's Eve New Years and maybe day or two after that. Probably anchor a few nights at tavernier key.

Lx are you still on the water from your New Years activities? Anyone have any dive company or dive site recommendations out of key largo?

I live on the boat during the winter so yea I'm still here.
Near shore waters are murky as of the 2nd. The clearer water is out by the main reef line. If you are out on the boat pick up any of the rocks and patches out past Hawks channel.
