Winch handle

2 years ago I replaced the winch on my original Mac 97X trailer. I kept the winch handle because 1) it still worked, and 2) it fit - the replacement winch handle was quite a bit longer would "bump up" against the rubber "V's".
Last Thursday the winch handle stripped out. Anyone know a good source for a replacement winch handle? Can't be to long.

I've never used my winches or winch handle. How do you use yours?

Also...where to get a replacement winch for an 88 26D? My winch gave out Saturday when loading. The Mac Bump was interesting when you have a foot to move her.

What is the brand of your winch?

The original trailer winch handle is 7 inches - just fits. Can't be longer. Or perhaps a rachet winch?

I usually tow my

with my Equinox. This month I experienced two "system trips" where the torque convertor seems to have gone on vacation, so I opted to have my brother pull it out of the ramp and get it home for me using his Ford F450 Diesel. He had no problems until I explained the mac bump to him. He couldn't believe it was the "procedure". It took 3 tries for him to get it to move the 4 inches or so I needed. "No man, ya gotta really slam on those brakes. Just tapping them wont work." He was convinced it was going to slide with so much force it would tear the trailer pedestal right off. He also wanted to know why the winch wouldn't just crank it tight to the pedestal in the first place.
