Hello,I'm James. I have recently purchased a 1999 Macgregor 26x, but the seller didn't give me an instruction of how to setup the rig. I have searched the owner's manual and youtube videos, but I am still lost. Just curious if any one live in Los Angeles or close by that is kind enough to teach me how to setup the rig. Thank you very much

Do you have mast up and are looking for running rigging ( halyards and sheets) or are you trying to get the mast up right?
Lots if Macs in LA area but that can be 4 hours travel

I can sure relate to that. I just put up my mast and sails for the first time. It's like spaghetti until you get it all sorted out. And then even after you get it all up, you have to figure out how to tension it all. I'm still working on that myself.

Sorry I'm not close and can't help in person, but here's something you can learn from my experience. I put a lot of effort into knowing how to get the mast up and didn't have a lot of trouble with it. However, I didn't have a plan to navigate the current in my marina. I wound up with my shrouds into the roof of the next row of slips

Only damage was a bent boat pole, but it could have been worse

Be sure to put some thought into this as well.

Always remember to use your baby stays when raising the mast!
We leave them on all the time, others take them off (after the mast is up or down).
The top two sets of side stays (shrouds) hold your mast in place once it is in the upright position, but the bottom (baby) stays (shrouds) stops the mast from falling sideways while raising or lowering the mast, the baby stays become loose when the mast is raised to the upright position (this is normal)
... also double check the baby stay attachment bolts on both deck plates, they tend to loosen on an
