Anyone here claim the X at the Pequonnock Yacht Club?

Post by Azzarac »

We dropped our eldest off at college this weekend in Connecticut and after several days of constant running/meetings/setups/noise the admiral and I wanted someplace nice and quiet to enjoy dinner. Plus by this time I think the kid was ready to get rid of us anyway... We saw a little waterfront restaurant with good reviews online called the Shell and Bones which is also home to the Pequonnock Yacht Club. We enjoyed a beautiful evening seated outdoors right up against the sound.Great people and great food! When leaving the restaurant we toured the docks and found a well maintained :macx: tucked into the far corner of the docks. I was just curious if the owner was one of our members here.

BTW: If you ever find yourself in the area, the bouillabaisse is outstanding!

Hmmmm, sounds like someone is going to Yale. :D

Oh, and I've driven from the Middle of the Mid-West to coastal CT (where I grew up), and that's a long ride.

Yes, yes they are. We are very proud of our freshman bulldog! 8)

And also yes, it is indeed a very long drive but I must have my ocean fix every once in a while so I have made the trip back east numerous times. One of these days in the not too distant future I want to take a month and cruise the New England coastline. I'm about 80% sure we will retire somewhere on the east coast. We just need to decide whether snow or hurricanes are the preferred weather lol! I'm thinking hurricanes win at this point in life.

Having grown up there, and lived on the coast in the tri-state area for all but 13 years, I can say with great authority (but speaking for myself only, of course) that I will take the odd hurricane over all - this - snow up here any day, and twice on Sundays. :D We're debating between coastal Carolina and eastern Connecticut (like Stonington). So maybe I'll see you on the water in LI Sound some day. :) 8)

Oh, and congrats to the new Bulldog. 8)

Get a slip at the PYC for your Mac. Gives you an excuse to visit often. You have every right to be proud of your son. 8)

I'll take snow and four seasons over heat and hurricanes, please.

Maine is still a bit too hot for me.
