Re: C Head Composting toilets
I just put in a natures head composting toilet and I am so glad that I did. I went for approx 2 months without having to change the composting part and there has been absolutely no smell from it even on the hottest days. The bottle that collects the urine has to be changed every few days or so but it only takes a second to get to it and dump it. I had to run a fan from the toilet part which helps dry out the "product" and turn it into dirt and I did not want to drill any additional holes in my boat so I tapped into the sink hose in the bathroom to vent the air out. We never use that sink anyway so that worked well. It fits in the bathroom quite well and the height of it is a lot better than a potta pottie. Took me a couple hours to install and thats including the fan. I have a 98 X. I hope this helps:)

Re: C Head Composting toilets
I have the C-head and it is brilliant. Easy to installed. Very comfortable
and absolutely no smell. It uses off the shelf plastic jugs for urine and I keep a couple on board. As one fills I just cap it and replace with empty. Back at the marina pour down the toilet. Only use weekends and it has been 3months now and have not had to empty compost bucket.

I worked wih the designer of the C-Head to adapt it to the

. Search on my earlier posts detailing my installation. We are very satisfied with the system.
Re: C Head Composting toilets
Just curious, what issues/concerns arise if the C-head is only used occasionally (every second or third weekend or monthly)? Any known maintenance requirements with light use?

Re: C Head Composting toilets
We only us our C-head every 2-3 weekends and it works fine. I take the urine jug home, empty under my fruit trees, rinse out and it is ready to go again.
I do spray household cleaner on the urine collection funnel section and wipe over as part of our pickup up and clean up at the end of an outing.
