New owner old boat.

Hi all!
I just scored a 1973 venture of newport with the cast iron keel.As with any 40 + year old boat it's been changed a little bit. But i intend to whip it back to specs as quick as i can!
Just spent the first day getting it off trailer drilling a hole for new keel hoist and rigging that with 1/4 stainless and proper winch. only broke 3 drill bits, not bad.
Got mast shipped and all looks good with exception of outer forestay.
This is an interim project to keep me and my boys sailing skills honed while i refit our G34 ketch which sank and sat underwater for a week. So i intend to rerig it as a cutter and put it through its paces

Beautiful boat! I love the lines of the Newport and looks like your program is under way to get you guys back out here quicker. Have fun getting her in ship shape and sailing her.

That one looks to be in very good shape. Trailer must be new.
