Front hatch to anchor locker mod?

I want to modify an a/c install. I have an a/c widow unit installed and attached to the front deck on top of the anchor locker and have I insulated tubes extending from the air vents into the interior thru the front hatch new the bow windows. This works fine at temps <100 degrees but is no good at 100+ as it cools outside air. So am thinking of mounting under the hatch cover but need to vent the exhaust thru the anchor locker and was wondering if I would hurt structural integrity by doing so. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for comments

Egress,
It would help if you put in your profile what kind of Mac. you have, include year and Engine.
Most of us use a AC 5000 BTU companionway with a plexy glass cut out to slide in the groved hatch and covers around the AC. Some have builtins that cover the AC so you can step on it. 5000btu is more than enough here in SW florida and need it at a low setting during night and middle or high setting in day in 92-95 degrees.
If on the hook you need the Honda 2000, the 1000 Honda will run it but just barely . Best is 2000 and will last the night without running out of fuel.
