All the molded starboard shelving with SS guide wire. We will add some compartments in Stage 3 after we have used it for a while to see what needs fine tuning to suit our needs:

View of our new galley refit. If you look closely to the galley top they have run a SS wire around the edge to protect the edge from hot pots and to assist in stopping things slipping off the top.

Thanks! No we had our team of three: John from ShipShape boat fitters customed designed it to fit into the side wall of the boat. I spent a lot of time studying a lot of other Mac mods here on this forum and over the internet and after talking to John and my ideas he suggested using Starboard which he said is very strong, easy to work with, heat resistant and easy to clean. It gave us a nice white clean look and with one of the other boys there who worked on it they decided curves were far better to match the curves of the boat rather than straight lines. They SS wire was there idea as well and after trialing it during Stage 1 fit out I was so happy with it we added all through out the shelving. They will custom fit some more compartments dividers and some lower SS wire on the bottom behind stove and sink once we have used it over the next 4 days of sailing to make sure it fits to all our needs. To be honest don't know how they bent it but all I can say is that it is extremely strong.

The other two of our tradees were John at KLM Marine who did all the electrical, LCD strip lighting under the shelving, new Yeti system, 80 watt solar panel, electric winch etc.

Last but not least is Rod from East Cost Trimming who did the total interior cushion and carpet refit, new boom tent, bimini, new cockpit weather proof canvas cushions. The three of them did a totally professional job and we couldn't be happier with the results.

FYI, that goalzero system is on sale at Costco....and recently I spoke to a rep about the system when Costco was doing a roadshow....it's turnkey if it meets your needs. The matching solar panels are the hard panels and not the flexible panels that they sell. it is a lead battery not a lithium battery, but I understand that others have spared no expense to install lithium batteries in the system.

BTW their rechargeable lithium ion flashlight, though $70, is insanely bright and powerful and can be used to charge a mobile phone and they have a portable lantern, "lighthouse," that you can use to recharge a tablet/usb device, and is hand crankable if it runs out of charge. It can also connect to their "nomad" flexible smaller solar panel for a recharge.

All I can say is wow! Best looking shelves that I have seen in the mods. The curves are what makes it flow like a part of the boat and not an add on. Start mass producing them... I will buy.

I am struck by how the smoothe curves and radiused edges effectively add organic warmth that counteracts what could otherwise just be sterile, cold, white plastic.

The sense of organic flow is pretty amazing. It's because I lack this kind of talent that I know not to mess my boat up with permanent mods.

It was awesome gallery..Like you even I liked those flexible panels. I think they are very effective and cost is reasonable too.

Thanks for all the positive comments of our galley refit. About 8 months down the track we are extremely happy with the results and the only addition has been a custom made plate stacker that is easy to use and great when sailing on a lean. Everything stays in its place... the pull out wire baskets under the bench are fantastic and also so practical and easy to find everything. Unlike the old galley there is no mould or moisture build up in the galley at all and just step aboard and ready to go.
