Holding tank on 26X

Post by GART »

Hi
I have a Jabsco compact sea toilet on my 26X. I would like to fit a holding tank, to give me the option to empty at sea or use a pump out in harbor. My problem is where to put it. I do not want to loose the space where the cooler box goes as I use that for sleeping bags, bedding and spare clothing, with the toilet water tank underneath and the bilge pump fixed to the bulkhead.
I would rather have it above waterline so it could drain by gravity to save drain on my one and only battery.
Where do other people site their Holding tank on a 26X?
thanks for any advice.

I put two of these tanks in the storage space under the forward seat of the dinette. http://www.entrepotmarine.com/fr/plombe ... -moe041209 They just fit without cutting. I use one for holding and one for "fresh" toilet water. Won't drain by gravity though, you have to pipe the storage tank to a pumpout fitting. Easily done. I piped it back through the bilge and up through the ceiling of the heads.
