My (new to me) 2000 26X has a std Macgregor trailer, is there any way to inspect the center board while on the trailer?

I just arrived on site to pick it up for the journey home and thought that might be worth a look, if possible. Have been looking through the manual and can find no info on it.

I dont have a factory trailer, but it was my understanding it could be lowered and fully removed on the mac "trailer".

I guess it is pretty low... Im able to inspect mine decently and i cant lower it but about a foot before hitting trailer.

I have a 2000 model with factory trailer , and I can't lower my keel either . To replace the line to it , I had to find a marina with a strap lift to lift her off the trailer .

You have to have the boat all the way forward to clear the CB on the trailer cross member on my 2002. Cant speak to the 2000, but there may well be manufacturing variations big enough to mean this might not be possible on all boat/trailer combinations.

Although I haven't done it yet, my understanding is that if you drop the hinge bracket, you can then lower the front and slide the CB forward and down, even on the trailer. Looking at mine from below, the tail end is just barely touching the bunk, and might even clear it if I remove the vee-cushion on the stanchion and slide the boat forward just a touch.

But the CB is some sort of synthetic material, similar to or the same as the rudders, and the leading edge is showing when it's retracted, so other than the hinge bolt and retraction line, there's not much that would be wrong with it that you couldn't see from below, or by dropping the hinge.

My rudders look like polyethylene. They may be aftermarket. They're definitely solid, with no coating, and they machine (with a file, at least) like high-density polyethylene (Starboard).

Interesting... I may have to Rome over that way since we are in the area. We are visiting the admirals family and yesterday their Fulton winch froze up when her crazy uncle Leroy tried to Pul a ski boat out of the water. He is not all that Bright and the boat weighs a Ton. I thought we weren’t going to be able to Tow Wanda anywhere, but his son Spencer had some Greece so we were able get it out of the port and drag it over to a Pavilion...

Unfortunately, I'll never really consider myself an upstater, as I grew up and lived most of my life in the metro NYC area. Not that I want to go back, but my mind will never wrap itself around WNY. And to me, 'upstate' was pretty much anything north of Westchester County.
